Abstract Abstract: Three-dimensional (3D) printing, knowned as additive manufacturing, is driving major innovations in many areas, such as engineering, manufacturing, art, education and medicine. 3D printing has been increasingly utilized for biomedical applications in various areas of medicine and tissue engineering. Recent advances have enabled 3D printing of biocompatible materials, cells and supporting components into complex 3D functional living tissues. We reviewed recent articles involved in 3D printing, and discuss the current and future of medical applications for 3D printing.
