Abstract Prescription refers to a medical document issued and verified by relevant qualified professionals. They serves as a
voucher for the patient's medication. Its current management is mainly based on the Prescription Management Measures. Prescription is
a written document of medication for patients. Pharmacy staff relies on prescriptions to deploy medicines and the prescription holds
legal technical and economic responsibilities. Prescription mainly contains three parts the prenote the main text and the postnote to
the prescription. The prescription should contain the full name of the hospital the department the patient's name gender age date
the name of the drug dosage specifications quantities and usage and the formal prescription should be signed by the prescribing
physician and an auditor. At present the Prescription Management Measures do not categorize prescriptions and the current
prescriptions refer specifically to drug prescriptions. This paper summarizes the basic elements and requirements of nutritional
prescriptions based on the basic principles of nutritional therapy combined with prescription specifications in order to provide
guidance for clinical work in prescribing nutritional prescriptions.
